Sitting on a jury reviewing a civil case; a curiosity only in that I did tell the lawyers that I am a poet and such, and it didn't keep them from using their "perogative objection" against me. I think the corporate lawyer thought I was on their side because I listen to NPR, and the working class yahoo's lawyer thought I must be an anti-capitalist of some kind. What bugged me is that the other jurors all said, "Oh yeah, we thought they'd take you."
So much for poets being marginalized outlaws--I think we seem a fairly safe lot, really, or vaguely quaint and remote.
